ETL is proud to announce that it has embarked on the Maseru RAN and Transport Network Upgrades Project, a major technological milestone designed to elevate the digital experience for all valued customers.
The initial phase of this project, which began in February 2025, has been successfully completed by ETL. The giant has confirmed that it is now entering a critical stage of the project, with key milestones scheduled between 20 May and 30 July 2025. While minimal service disruptions may occur during this period, these developments mark the start of a phased rollout designed to significantly enhance mobile and internet connectivity across the country.
'This network transformation represents ETL's commitment to building a smarter, faster, and more resilient digital future for Lesotho. We are not just upgrading equipment; we are empowering progress and strengthening the very foundation of digital connectivity in Lesotho,” said Mr. Dennis Plaatjies, ETL’s CEO.
“This upgrade project includes replacing legacy radio systems with modern, high-performance units at key locations. Our teams are also reinforcing the transport infrastructure, ensuring that the backbone of the network can support the ever-increasing demand for high-speed and reliable connectivity” added Mr. Plaatjies.
Key Benefits of the Project
The upgrade will be executed site-by-site throughout Maseru, ensuring quality and stability at each location before moving to the next. This phased approach guarantees careful implementation and minimal impact on users.
'As we move forward, every customer, partner, and team member plays an essential role in realizing this vision. Together, we are building a more connected Lesotho — one that’s ready for the future,' concluded Mr. Plaatjies
