SEFS Launches Exciting EcoCash Agents Campaign
06 June 2025

SEFS is thrilled to announce the launch of EcoCash Agents Campaign – a dynamic and rewarding initiative aimed at energizing EcoCash’s agent network and deepening financial inclusion across Lesotho.

This launch celebrated the vital role that EcoCash agents play in connecting communities to digital financial services.

Speaking at the event, the GM – SEFS, Mr. Moeketsi Mafereka expressed pride in launching a campaign that puts agents at the heart of EcoCash’s growth strategy. “This is not just another campaign. It is a celebration. A moment where we pause to shine a well-deserved spotlight on our EcoCash Agents who are the heart and soul of our mobile money ecosystem,” he said.

The EcoCash Agents Campaign will run until September 30th and is open to all active EcoCash agents and sub-agents across the country. The goal is to encourage an increase in weekly and monthly cash-in transactions by at least 20%, and to reward agents who meet this threshold with exciting cash prizes.

Key highlights of the campaign include:

  • Weekly Prizes: M1,000 for one agent from each of the 10 districts.

  • Monthly Regional Prizes: M10,000 each to one lucky Agent from the North, Central, and South regions.

  • Grand Prize: A WHOPPING M100,000 will be awarded to one lucky agent at the end of the campaign.

New or reactivated agents will also get a chance to participate in the grand draw after transacting consistently for two months, becoming eligible for prizes in the third month.

SEFS through EcoCash has played a transformative role in Lesotho’s financial ecosystem over the last decade and the EcoCash Agents have been very central to this story.

“Our agents are more than cash handlers. They are the front-liners of financial inclusion, making it possible for a grandmother in Mokhotlong or a street vendor in Maputsoe to access secure and convenient financial services,” underscored Mr Mafereka.

The EcoCash Agents campaign is anchored on SEFS’s broader commitment to financial inclusion and economic empowerment, made possible through the reliable network infrastructure of ETL.
